Als gebürtige Engländerin die größtenteils in Deutschland aufwuchs hat sich meine zweisprachige Erziehung als hervorragende Voraussetzung für meine berufliche Karriere herausgestellt. Mit dem Zertifikat der IHK Dortmund als staatlich geprüfte Übersetzerin für die Sprachenkombination deutsch – englisch, die ich 1990 erwarb, verfüge ich mittlerweile über eine langjährige Berufserfahrung als Übersetzerin. Mir sind die typischen Übersetzungsfallen aus dem Deutschen ins Englische, die oftmals selbst von langjährigen Profis übersehen werden, sehr bekannt. Meine Arbeit zeichnet sich aus durch sprachliche Eloquenz, eine schnelle Umsetzung, ein sehr gesundes Preis-Leistungs-/Qualitätsverhältnis sowie eine langjährige Erfahrung in meinen Spezialbereichen. Seit Kurzem bediene ich mich für bestimmte Projekte auch der MemoQ Software.

As a native Londoner raised in Germany, I enjoyed a bi-lingual upbringing which has served me extremely well throughout my professional career. I acquired my translator's degree as a state-certified translator for German and English (staatlich geprüfte Übersetzerin) from the IHK Dortmund in 1990. With over 20 years of professional experience as a full-time linguist, I am very much in tune with typical translation pitfalls. Stylistic eloquence, speed and many years of experience in my fields of specialism define the quality of my work.

 

With the aim of providing the best possible service, I translate primarily from German into my native tongue, British English, and upon request, also from French into English, as I am also fluent in French. I recently added MemoQ to my working environment for an even more expedient turnaround of project work.

Anglaise de naissance, j’ai passé la majorité de mon enfance en Allemagne : mon éducation bilingue me prédestinait à choisir cette carrière professionnelle. Traductrice diplômée d’état par la Chambre de commerce et de l’industrie de Dortmund en 1990 pour la combinaison de langues allemand-anglais, je suis à mon compte depuis plus de 20 ans. Je connais parfaitement les pièges typiques des traductions de l’allemand vers l’anglais, lesquels passent souvent inaperçus. Mon travail se distingue par l’élégance de mon style, l’exécution rapide, l’excellent rapport qualitatif prix/performance ainsi qu’une longue expérience dans mes domaines de prédilection.

Afin d’assurer une qualité optimale, je traduis principalement de l’allemand vers l’anglais, ma langue maternelle, et à la demande, en fonction du domaine, également du français vers l’anglais.
